State Utah Torrey is a town positioned on State Route 24 in Wayne County, Utah, United States, 8 miles (13 km) from Capitol Reef National Park.
As of the 2010 census, the town had a populace of 182. Torrey was a member of the Wyoming legislature, who, upon the advent of the Spanish American War, accomplished nationwide attention by proposing the creation of what became three volunteer cavalry regiments, made up of cowboys and stockmen.
Torrey was commissioned Colonel of the 2nd Regiment, the "Rocky Mountain Riders"; the 1st Regiment, the only regiment to see action, was better known as the Rough Riders.
According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town has a total region of 0.50 square miles (1.3 km2), none of which is veiled with water. As of the census of 2000, there were 171 citizens , 73 homeholds, and 50 families living in the town.
